This patch is given to students who have been allowed to help their Sensei during his classes in the Dojo. The Assistant Coach is not an instructor, so he's not allowed to teach, he's only allowed to help and support his Sensei. This apprenticeship is necessary in order to get the 1st level teaching qualification. Though, this patch is usually given to a junior with much experience, this patch can also be given to a senior.
